| Dear Victory Family, As I compose this article we are preparing to say good-bye to a special person. Debbie Toole has served the needs of the Victory Baptist Church family well. Debbie came to us at a time when we needed a strong, compassionate, and committed person to fill our secretary position. Throughout her tenure, Debbie has displayed a consistent Christian spirit and a strong work ethic. Debbie has always shown kindness to those who she has related to. I am grateful for her service to the Lord and the Victory Baptist family. Debbie and her husband, Jim have relocated to the Smyrna community where Jim is serving as Pastor of the Rock Springs Baptist Church. Please join me in thanking Debbie for her service and in praying for God's continued blessing upon their lives and ministry. Thank you Debbie for a job well done! |
Prayer is an essential component in the life of any church. Without a solid commitment to prayer a church will spend its resources working in its own power and not the power that comes from God's presence. As we walk alongside those who are experiencing the trials of life, it is imperative that we draw closer to the Lord through prayer. We have families who have been impacted by the loss of loved ones recently and in need of the comfort that God alone can provide. We have young families facing difficult challenges as they struggle to find a reasonable balance in their lives and in need of God's wisdom. We have members who are dealing with significant health issues and in need of God's healing touch. Discouragement can easily set in if the power of God's promise is not relied upon. We must not allow the "evil one" to convince us that we are defeated. Prayer opens the door to the One who controls all things. We must walk in God's power if we are to overcome the trials of this life. God has a word for us today; "Not by strength or by might, but by My Spirit, says the Lord of Host." (Zechariah 4:6) May we all join together as one in praying for God's Spirit to guide us through victoriously all things. The new voice you will hear when you call the church office will be the voice of Rachel Burnette. Rachel has been employed as secretary. Please assist her as she begins the process of getting acclimated to the Victory Baptist family. Rachel and her husband, Brandon attend the Immanuel Baptist Church in Lebanon. Blessings to all, Brother Chuck |
